Did a stranger do something?

A prayer costs one cent for everyone, always. Everything above a cent buys days on the wall or a person's time, never a better prayer. Nothing above a cent opens until these counters say a stranger arrived, wrote, and paid. The window runs 2026-09-03 to 2026-12-05.

The counters cannot tell the operator's own visits from a stranger's, so the house marks itself. Marking stores one flag in this browser, sets no cookie, and sends nothing on its own; every beacon from a marked browser then says so. Nothing checks it: an unmarked house visit still counts as non-house, and any browser may call itself the house, so the two counts above are what is left after the marker rather than a bound on strangers. 1. Settled rows are spirit_takings and spirit_prayers with status settled, plus every candle and light that settled (on any rail, refunded or disputed later included), dated by settled_at (created_at when missing), inside the window.
2. base_pay counts candles paid with Base Pay or any direct USDC transfer on Base that The Wild verified on chain itself. Their standing comes from the payer wallet, like x402 rows.
3. stripe_card counts card candles. A card row has no wallet, so its standing is house_asserted: stranger unless the house marked the order as its own, and it never counts as a distinct or repeat hand. Card rows are proof attested by the processor and reversible for 120 days.
4. Standing uses the published house list (house_list_v1). The one-hop check, a wallet funded directly by a house wallet, was not run.
5. Funnel counts are every event received. The house is separated only when it says so: visiting /gate?house=1 stores a marker in that browser, and every beacon from it then carries house: true. The marker is voluntary and cookie-free, and nothing checks it: an unmarked house visit still counts as non-house, and any browser may call itself the house. So page_views_non_house and seals_computed_non_house are what is left after the marker, not a bound in either direction, and not exact stranger counts.
6. house_marked_events counts the events that carried the marker. It is not subtracted from challenges_402, signature_attempts or card_interest_presses, which stay totals.
7. altar_view, seal_computed, challenge_402, signature_attempt and card_interest are all fired by the visitor's browser, not by the server. A browser that blocks the beacon is not counted.
8. Each IP hash may send 60 funnel events an hour; more are dropped.
9. settlement_dates counts distinct UTC days with a stranger settlement.
10. repeat_stranger_hands_24h counts stranger wallets with two settlements at least 24 hours apart.
11. The card rail is built and stays dark until the operator adds its Stripe secrets; until then stripe_card, refunds and disputes are zero. Refunds and disputes are counted from appended rows, never by editing a settlement. card_interest counts presses of a button that cannot charge yet and is not demand.
12. The agent gate is computed alongside for comparison; /api/field remains its published source.
13. Each day the first read freezes a snapshot; hash = sha256(prev_hash + NUL + json).
14. witness_stones counts settled witness stones (one cent each, a timestamped sealed commitment) inside the window, by the same house list. They are their own act type: they are not settled rows above, they are not prayers, and they never count toward any threshold, so stone volume cannot stand in for prayer demand.
